2021 Rocslide
Violet, cherry cola, and wild blackberry flaunt themselves aromatically, with more subtle hints of shaved cocoa, coffee grounds, and flint to fill in the empty spaces. The palate accentuates the Petite Sirah component in this wine, with soft but supple tannin leading delightful fruit notes of strawberry preserve, sugarplum, and fig. The palate also reveals impressive weight, but balanced, and as this wine ages that will only improve. The acidity is a little bit brighter, and paired with the heftiness of the palate and rich tannins this combo can sometimes be deadly- but here the way they all play together is quite lovely. Drink now or cellar 15+ years. This baby will hold its luscious profile for years to come.
